It is simply oil made out of coconut. It is made by grating the coconut, squeezing the milk out, then put it to set and then fry the crean that settles on top. It is nothing more than coconut.
Coconut oil can be used for cooking as well as can be drank in small amount for medicine with a little salt and lime added to it. It can also be used for other medicine like for cough and cut or injuries by adding campher to it.
I've used coconut oil for all these things and it works very well. I've used it on dogs, cats and birds as medicines and in their foods.
