the pill or the patch?!

Question:
Answers:
It really depends on the person as to what they feel more comfortable using. Some people like the patch because of not worrying about remembering to take a pill everyday. As far as effectiveness, they are both basically the same.

dont no
The pill. I don't know about effectiveness for both, but the patch irriated my skin.
The pill is better. I used to work in a medical office. The patch weakens the bones and causes allot of spotting and bleeding. In most places the patch is no longer prescribed. With the pill it is easier to control. When you start using things like a patch or injections for birth control reasons, you can run into allot of problems that were not considered. My friend used the patch, now she has brittle bones, and has broken her hand, her knee and her foot. She no longer takes it. The pill on the other hand has been around for many years and is considered safe as long as it is used properly. Always consult your doctor, and never uses a friends prescriptions.
look into side affects on both and decide whats best for your body ... it all depends on what your doctor says
hI, I am in the same dilema as you, except i would never use the patch. It's way too scary. The patch increases your chances of stroke by 300%.

I am going to start using the ring today. I have spoken with my doctor and she says alot of women are very comfortable with the ring. I have also posted a question about the ring and one woman responed that she liked the ring, it made her a bit more emotional, and she did not gain weight.

if this doesn't work for me than i will try the pill. I think yasmin is suppose to be really good.
Have you considered Depo Provera shots and implant injections? There are complications for all BC devices in some way or another. The choice is up to you. Check out the facts and choose the one you feel you would be most comfortable with. When in doubt, ask your OB/GYN. They would have all the options and answers you need.

I would say the pill. I have tried both and the patch irritated my skin and it didn't stay stuck to my skin very well. And if it doesn't stay on your skin, then you aren't getting the hormones and it becomes less effective. I have also tried the Depo Provera shot, and the only gripe I have about it is that no one told me that it can take up to two years for you to return to fertility.
If you had to pick one, I would say the patch over the pill becausse it decreases likeness of misuse by delivering a constant stream of hormones. There are many variables that can affect pills performance. If you dont take it at the exact time each day, if you take it on a full vs empty stomach, medications, tempature pills are stored in etc.

My advise would be the ring over the patch though. The ring is more user friendly and the hormones used dont take as long for the body to adjust to. Plus, you can remove it for up to three hours and still have hormonal protection.
