some but not all
There are many products on the market today that are made from natural herbs that are based on folk lore. Some of them are true, others aren't. So, you may find yourself wasting money on a chance that a natural cure might work. You should research products that use natural ingredients and have been scientifically proven to aide you in some way. I know of only one company that operates in this manner. If you want to know more about this company, email with your contact information and I will call you back to tell you more!

thts the best medicene.
I wouldn't say they work better than medicine, I would say it's doing things on the natural side instead of the drug side.

Drugs have side effects, when ever you see ads, they always tell you the side effects.

I don't know about you, but those side effects sound worse than the problem they are trying to cure.

I choose herbs, vitamins, trace minerals.
For me yes!

There is scientific evidence that some herbal treatments are effective but others alas don't appear to have come up to the same standards.

It is worth bearing in mind that many herbal remedies are cheap (or free if you know what you are doing) and so there is a bias against them from the pharmaceutical companies who make big money out of 'purifying' drugs, which incidentally were often herbal in origin. So science can't always be trusted, especially if it can be traced back to big business!

A herbalist once explained to me that often the plant as found in nature is more effective than purified 'drugs' as the plant itself contains compounds that enhance the effectiveness and/or reduce adverse side-effects. He also pointed out that you don't use an atom bomb to kill a fish (I don't quite get the analogy either, perhaps a fisherman can help!) He explained that he meant that sometimes the potency of the chemical remedies we introduce into our bodies is way more than is actually needed.

If you decide to try herbal remedies I strongly urge you to find a traditional herbalist rather than use 'off the shelf' herbal medicine. The latter is rapidly becoming an alternative pharmaceutical trade and another way of making big profits.
Maybe. Maybe not. I know people who lost their lives because they used herbs to treat serious illness rather than going to the doctor in time for a more scientific treatment. If you don't have a serious illness, try the herbs. But if you are delaying medical treatment for a serious illness, you are taking your life and health into your hands.

Don't believe anyone who tells you that "natural" remedies have no side effects or that they can't hurt you. Many people are allergic to natural chemicals, or they take too much. And if everything "natural" was always good for you, then what about poison ivy, snake venom, and the like?

But again, if you want to try herbs on a non-serious condition, go ahead and see if it works. But if you have symptoms of a stroke, cancer, or other serious condition, I'd definitely vote for the advances made by medical science.
theres nothin wrong in making money while curing people, herbalists are making good money themselves!
as a pharmacist, i can tell u that many of the drugs in a drug store are of herbal origin but extracted, purified and adapted in a carefully calculated dose to cure (its not ususally the case in crude herbs)
u cannot rely solely on herbs to treat diseases, usually u can use them as adjuvent therapy
eg.Hibiscus is good to reduce high blood pressure but u always have to take ur antihypertensive pills 1st!
i personally go for "evidence based medicine"
the best bet is to see a homeopathic dr they worked for me for the autoimmune disease i have. The medicines that I were taking were making me really sick but the natural pills worked and I was not sick. I take glucosamine and chondritan for arthritis and that works. my rheumatologist wanted to give me a drug that they also use for chemo patients. No thanks. I have taken all natural herbs and they worked for me. See a licensed heopathic dr to get the right amount and the correct herbs you need for your condition.
I am currently studying to become a natropath and I believe that herbal remedies work only if the right one is selected for the specific condition. I have read here that there are a few people how said they have lost friends due to death caused by herbal medicine and in response to that I say I am sorry for their loss but what else were these people taking in conjunction with the herbal treatments. The biggest mistake anyone can make is not to be honest with their health care practitioner about everything they are taking (supplements, medications, herbal remedies, homoeopathic etc). There are some herbs out there that can cause side effects when administered in the wrong dosage or with some other substances. It is important to know what you are doing and to know the herb drug interactions. Herbs generally work in a synergistic way with the body to help the body restore balance and they tend to encourage the body to correct itself rather than prescription drugs which act as a band-aid and only treat the symptoms not the cause. Like everything in this world it is what works for you, what you believe & making an arming yourself with as much information on these topics to allow yourslef to make an informed decision.
Yes I believe it is true.
Conventional drugs from the big pharmceutical companies have so many "fillers" that create more problems that have to be treated later and prescription drugs are given to simply treat the symptom, and not the cause of the illness. From what I've read, Physicians are trained to do two things: prescribe drugs and do surgery when a person becomes ill with disease. Most have little or no training in preventive medicine.
Natural herb in pure extract form go directly to the root and cause of the illness/disease without damage to other parts of our organs. Herbal plants are natural healing agents that have been preventing and healing diseases since long before modern drug therapy.
Seems to me that pharmaceuticals and other health related industries are such huge profit making businesses that the companies' shareholders would not want people to be healthy. As long as we keep getting sick, they are making money aren't they?
Thank goodness people are becoming more educated about alternative medicine and other treatment options.
