Who wants to tell what's their age and how did they feel when they first started!

Question: I just started mine.I was not shocked. I've been waiting for my period for a long time. I started at age 14.
Answers:
I'm 37, and had my first one when I was 9. I was shocked and terrified when it happened, but obviously, my mom assumed she still had a couple of years before she needed to have "the talk." All women mature a little differently, and it's perfectly normal to begin anywhere between the ages of 10 and 14. It's actually a good thing to start a little late--it decreases your risks for breast and cervical cancers later in life.

im 18 now but i started at 13. i wasnt shocked but ive hated it since it started. its not like i wanted it dont really need it right now and the cramps kill me every time.
i started mine at 15 years old, i was very happy at that time, since i thought i was not a kid anymore and that i am a girl..
I was 13. At first I was scared, I wanted to get it so I was happy!
I started at 14..i was the last out of all my friends so i was not shocked and kind of relieved really. I hated it for a while though but i have become used to it now.
I started at 14. Most of my friends had theirs before me, but I am the youngest of the group. One girl started at 11. Another didn't get hers til she was 21! I think 14 is an average age.
I am 32. I started my period just two months after I turned 10. I was excited at the time because I thought it meant I was all grown up. Now I wish it would just go away! It's a blessing and a curse all together!
I'm 13. My friend and I are the only ones in our grade, that I know of, that has not had their period!
i started mine one the 1st of november when i was in the 6th grade i was 11 years old i am 13 now going on 14. I was sooo sad cause i didnt know what it really was. I thought i had to wear a pad everyday for the rest of my life and i thought i couldnt go swimming again lol. But its cool now that i understand it. I wish i didnt have to put up with it cause its so annoying.
I'm 21 now I think I was 11 when I had my first cycle.
Hi, I started at 13, and really wasn't surprised either, I went to the bathroom and saw the stain, and then went home, told my mother, she showed me what to do and that was that. No fuss.
I'm 17, I had my first period when I was 10. I was a lil surprised, but not much. I knew what to expect, but I didn't think it would happen to me, lol. I felt a lot of discomfort.
(And that discomfort never got better.I take some hardcore prescriptions around that time, these days)
I'm 26 but I started when I was 11. The first time was really scary. I didn't know what was going on. it was during school and since I was afraid I had to wait until I got home to put a pad which at did not know what it was at that point (I had seen my mom put one on so I assume it was to protect the panties) when my mom got home from work she kind of explained it. and of course she told me that she was meaning to talk to me about that (a little late). so now I have 2 girls and my oldest it's 10 so I'm trying to explain it to her but it's kind of embarrassing I guess because my mom never really explain it to me.
I'm 23 years old and I started when I was 13. When i got mine, I thought I was bleeding to death. Then I remembered my older sister got their period and I realized what it was. But the next day I woke up and realized I was still bleeding and I thought that something was wrong cause i was still bleeding. I told my mom and she had to tell me that it lasted like 5 to 7 days. I didn't know I was young and i thought it lasted only one day. I hate my period. Yet sometimes in your life you pray for it to come and then when it gets there, you wish it would go away.
i started at 11. i was very shy and wouldn't tell my mother. but i didn't have pads (she had a hysterectormy and there weren't pads in the house) and i used toilet paper and it stopped up the toilet. my mom yells out ".did you start your period?" i can laugh now, but i was mortified at the time. I'm nearly 38, and back then i thought a period lasted forever and not just a few days a month.
I was in 5Th grade and it was The day of my D.A.R.E. (Drug, Abuse, Residence, Education) graduation. My friends and I had The best skit so we got to do it in front of The whole school. So I had to act out that I just got stoned and I fake fainted. I fell over and my back was to the audience. Yeah, I bet you can guess what happened. White pants. And it was in front of the entire school! I'm in 8th grade now and I've just started to realized how funny it was! (b.c it wasn't funny at the moment!) And now I also realize that the parents, teachers and 4th grader and 5th grader were the only ones that knew what was going on! I guess I was mostly embarrassed! But now it's cool, except for the cramps!
well I guess im the late bloomer around here, I was 15 almost 16 and have hated it every month since then. I thought I was going to get lucky and never have the darned thing.I am 30 now and have three wonderful kids(only good thing that comes from getting a period). I enjoyed all 9 months of pregnancy all three times cause I didnt have to deal with the heavy bleeding and horrible cramps. I can say I am looking forward to menopause,as far as periods go ,I dont need one anymore.
I was 11 years and I was not shocked. I didn't what was happening at the time and I have hated having periods ever since cause of those damn cramps.
I started at age 10 & hid it from my cousins for TWO yrs! How they didnt know was beyond me. The way I told my mom was by putting a BIG red DOT in the middle of a piece of looseleaf & slipped it under her covers. I was 2 embarassed to tell her! She knew exactly what it meant though when she saw it. I thought I had done #2 on myself b/c it was rather dark (sorry, TMI, I know!). I am 26 now & could do without one frankly.
im 14 and I started my when i was 10years old and I was in the 3rd grade
i started mine when i was 15 and i am jus so damn sick of tha cramps, i rilli hate em'!
I was 9 when I started I didn't want it then and I don't want it now, the only comfort I have is that because of it I was able to have my three boys (they're great). And since I started early I will probably go through menopause early I can't wait to get it over with.
i started at 11ish going on to 12. it was a horrible experience. i had so much cramps.
yea well i hated it i thought sumthin was wrong with me. i was only in the 4th grade and jus turned what maybe 9? yea horrible. ill be goin thru menopause at 26.. ahha.. im 18 now by the way, i dont kno why u'd be waiting for it, its horrible but ull obviously get used to it, i kno i have and so has half of the rest of the world haha
Im 18. I started in 7th grade. Its just one of those things everyone deals with. You learn to hate it and live with it lol. Pack up on Midol, and heating pads.
dunno.wish though.......
Good question. I was 11 years old, and in the sixth grade; I home sick from school. I had to use the bathroom, or so I thought, but when I did look I was bleeding. I was so happy. I forgot about my runny nose and sore throat and ran and told my Grandma. Then I called my mom on her job and told her the good news. I was a woman. LOL.
Well I am 23 now, I started when i was 14. And think we have like many more years to go. Some people dye before they hit menopause
I started at 13 and was not surprised or shocked. Now I don't have them anymore and life is wonderful. My husband loves it anyway! 50 is wonderful!
hahaha.dont laugh at this.im 21 right now and i had my first perios 2months b4 graduation from hiskul..i was about 16 already! im grateful.it came pretty late that i was afraid it will never come!

but though its pretty embarrasing because my classmates knew it! but then.tey are happy for me.as they say, the baby is now a lady!'',)

Mine stated when I was 14 and I was shocked and confused. I didn't know what was happening and my mother wouldn't explain it to me. If hadn't been for a film in gym class I wouldn't have found what was going on.
