What is this pain? How can I get rid of it?!

Question: I have this pain that has been going on for about two days now (this will be the third). It is not excruciating. On a scale of one to ten (10 is worst) it is about a 2.5. But it is constant. The pain is in my groin. To be specific it is on the left side of my scrotum and the base of my shaft. What is wrong? What should I do (besides go to a doctor). I haven't been hit there or anything. Also it hurts only when I'm standing. It doesn't hurt very much when I'm sitting.
Answers:
Probably a pulled groin muscle. If you had a hernia, chances are, it would be closer to a ten in terms of pain. Call your doctor to make sure. If it is a hernia, you want to get that taken care of asap.

Other Answers:
Diacetylmorphine. ask for it at your local drug store.
You have a hernia, or a pulled groin muscle.

If it's a hernia, it's a minor one. If it's a pulled muscle, it should resolve in a few more days. Wear a belt when you work out, and don't aggravate it anymore by running/jogging/etc. Good luck!

MOst likely a hernia. If it's a hernia, it hurts when you stand. A minor one is little pain, like a 2 or 3/10 pain. A bad hernia is so bad you can't stand up. A pull, however, would be pain upon flexing or as you're lying down, try to lift up your leg - if your muscle hurts, it's more likely pulled. Also, a small hernia cannot really be detected or differentiated from a minor pull becuase when they ask you to cough to see if there is a prolapse, if it's minor, you won't feel anything hit your finger. So we simply say bed rest. For a minor hernia, surgery is elective, and not really recommended, but it should disappear in a couple of days if you don't exert yourself. Wear a belt when lifting or working out and you can be very functional with a minor hernia. Once you start to see a bulge and/or pain, it's getting more severe and can lead to things like strangulation, which would require surgery. Hope this helps.

Definitely google the topic for more info.
