Answers:
Not infectious.Spread by blood from one site to the other within the same person-eg from lung to bone.
Usually occurs in immunosupressed people.
Gradually damages bone-esp the spine over several years.
If detected early and treatment starts, chances of bone damage are low.

i guess. but it's not d same as the respiratory TB that's easily spread through air droplets.
tuberculosis is highly contiguous bacteria that affects the lungs, its airborne. bone damage?
T.B bacteria reach the bone through the blood, in the chronic respiratory TB, its very serious case and cause sever irreversible bone damage, when the infection appeared in the bone it need for long time till the appearance of the first symptom but X- Ray would be help full in the diagnosis, we cant give any time limit for the damage but the early detection and the early treatment give the best results, the treatment is by combined surgical and medical treatments.
No tuberculosis (TB) of the bone is not contagious (not infectious). Only pulmonary TB (lungs) is contagious (ie, spread from one person to another, infectious).

TB of extra-pulmonary tissues(bones and joint) is most often a spread of infection via the blood stream from a primary lung focus. The usual progression is for the disease to spread from the lungs to locations outside the lungs (extrapulmonary sites).
If the diagnosis is early enough and treatment is started, the spread should not be fast and destruction of the bone will be halted. X-ray of the bone should be an easy way to diagnose TB of the bone. Without treatment, destruction of bone is rapid.
