travel to la in march?!
Question: i would like to travel to los angles in march could anyone tell me about the clothing outlet.where are some of the places the locals may go and it has to be around the staples center.. and do i need to rent a car.. i would also like to have the names of the stores or an e-mail address

hmm.i live in la and i've been to the area the staples center is in. it's downtown l.a. and it's a bunch of skyscrapers and such. there are some cheap clothing stores around the fashion district. hmm.i just read in my los angeles fodors tour guide that there's a place called santee alley that's inbetween santee street and maple avenue, from olympic blvd to 12th street. says it's an open air market with all types of clothing bargains. says you can get a map by visiting this website www.fashiondistrict.org. but if you rent a car (which, yes, you should!), you should go to melrose avenue. there are tons of shops up and down the entire avenue (vintage, cutesy, punk, inexpensive..) melrose is a pretty long avenue, so i'm sure you can figure out a way to get there. (not sure how to from staples) there are also huge shopping centers such as the beverly center, 3rd street promenade, and the grove (to name a few).
