What is causing his night sweats? Please Help.?!

Question: My boyfriend has night sweats and wakes up in the morning with his body and the sheets and blankets dreanched in sweat (we do a lot of laundry). It does not seem to be tied to anything else-like eating habbits or drinking alcohol etc.. He thinks it happens when he dreams. He has no other medical symptoms. Does anyone know what this could be?
Answers:
This is common when one has an infection, especially when a fever breaks.
It is also a sign of sleep apnea and hypoglycemia.

Sleep apnea:
Is he tired during the day?
Does he wake up with a headache?
Is he overweight?
Does he wake up overnight with his heart racing?

Hypoglycemia:
Does he get shaky, headache or enraged if he's hungry?
Does he sometimes feel like he's in a fog, tired, can't thing straight?

I have hypoglycemia which goes hand in hand with insomnia.

Actually, I think night sweats are just a sign of poor sleep whatever the cause. It can be attributed to a number of illnesses, but have him go to the doctor, and pay special attention to those 3 I mentioned.

I think you sweat more and also it might be hot and alot of clothes and blankets. So take some of them off (blankets) and put the AC on.
I'm a doctor, so I have a bias towards recommending he get some tests. Night sweats can mean a lot of things:
Blood pressure complications
Nocturnal Fever Syndrome
Sleep Apnea
HIV
Hormonal Imbalances
Thyroid issues.
Blood issues.
Lymph infections

Don't try to figure this out. Night sweats are always a sign that something is changing in the body and not right. Please seek medical help

In women this could be peri-menopause symptoms, but maybe men can have hormonal issues as well. He should discuss this with his doctor. Meanwhile, it is recommended that a bedroom be kept cool. Crack a window and/or turn on a fan. My sister-in-law once told me that my brother sweats so much that he leaves a salt ring on the sheets!

Diabetes, HIV , sleep apnea and some prescription drugs can casue night sweats.

I typed in "male night sweats" and did a search.
My ex husband used to get night sweats. It was caused by alcohol withdrawal (he was an alcoholic) but he swore blind it was because he had TB. (Which of course he didn't, but that's denial for you.)
