I have dvt (deep vein thrombosis) it causes your blood to clot which can eventually lead to a pulmanary blood clot, lungs collaspeing and stroke. I was lucky, I got thru it,and now I am on constant watch with blood thinners. It is a known fact that to sit that long in one place is not healthy, it could be fatal, as I said above. Haven't you heard the talk on the news about people who fly on long hour trips should get up out of their seats and move around to get the circulation moving. I had a clot behind my knee and it traveled into my brain and my longs which cause six smaller clots to form. it hurt like hell once the lungs collasped. it will come on all of a sudden, so don't ignore a little discomfort in your leg.You can use your leg in the future but once those veins spread there is nothig you can do about the soreness that is there. If you touch it or lean on it knee to knee it is uncomfortable, it feels like a very sore black and blue mark.it really is just the vien stretched. I have permanent disforming on my knees too. don't mess around with this, see a doctor and educate your self about it. they say if you make it thru the first stroke you are lucky but it isn't so much likely you will make it thru the next one. really ,please see a doctor, if you feel any discomfort in the back of your calves or knee espeacially. like a knot or somnething like that., which won't go away.it is a sign.it doesn't hurt bad right away, but you will feel a weird knot like feeling that won't go away.

I would think that sitting in one position doing anything could affect your legs in the future? You will need to be aware of your posture and take regular stops to stretch your back and legs.

Also keep flexing your shoulders/arms and changing the postion of you hands on the steering wheel to try to prevent accumulating tension in your neck and shoulders
