Can you intermingle South Beach Diet and Atkins?!

Question: Can you go between the two diets and still lose weight? For example: You have a South Beach Diet approved meal for dinner one night and the next night you have an Atkins approved meal for dinner. I've been doing this lately, but I am afraid I've been ruining both diets by doing so.
Answers:
I have some knowledge of both. I believe the South Beach Diet kind of starts out similarly to the Atkins in the respect you limit your carbohydrates a lot in the first two weeks or so. Atkins does the same except it may be somewhat more extreme. South Beach doesn't champion as much red meat as Atkins too.

Personally, I think it might be okay the first two or three weeks since both limit carbs. After that, the diets diverge in philosophy. The South Beach includes more bread/rice and other things.whereas the Atkins still carb-restricts. So, I think it would be detrimental to mix them after the first few weeks.

I personally think the South Beach diet is a lot more healthy..I read the book and I feel its a lot healthier to lose weight that way because it gradually introduces carbs back into the diet. Atkins is too extreme and once you go back to a regular diet with breads and/or rice, you will gain the weight back.

Would the combination be the At the Beach diet?
