A small amount of fresh tuna is ok, but not canned and not on a regular basis. You need to let her make the decision.
no tuna fish and watcht the shrimp too.have your friend call her dr and get the guidelines
Yes tuna is a great source of protein for everyone. It is totally safe for pregnant ladies
Yes tuna is good.
I think they warn against pregnant women eating tuna due to the high mercury contents found in tuna lately.
Moderately consumed, it is safe.
i've heard no. so i'd stay away just b/c it's questionable. you can always make her somethign else.
the ama says that one serving of canned tuna once a week or two serving of fresh tuna a week for pregnant women. it contains high levels of mercury. wild caught salmon is a better choice {not farmed, framing causes toxic build up in the tissue due to the level of contaminants}
I' ve heard more guys asking this question. there seems to be some kind of problem with it . but can't see which one.. :)

It's safe. Just look out for bottom feeders like shrimp, lobster, etc.
any fish is bad for pregnant woman in large amounts b/c of the mercury in them
Well ask her doctor because tuna can be good and bad. It is high in protein and helps the digestive system. It is also bad because of its high contents of salt and oil which could harm the baby. Plus canned isn't the best because it could be expired. So I recommend no but ask her doctor.
No, tuna has a mineral in it that can cause Birth Defects in her unborn baby. You could find out more if you contact her Doctor or your nearby health department. I saw a program on TV on this specific subject. Several women were on the show that had eaten a lot of tuna during their pregnancy, and their babies were born with birth defects.
Tuna is one of the best foods you could serve your pregnant girlfriend just as long as you don't serve it raw. :) Enjoy!
A small amount is fine. I would check with a doctor to find a healthy amount.
Actual I heard that it was not good for a pregnate lady to eat tuna. I believe that tyhere is a small amount of murcury(sp wrong) and that it is not good for the baby.
