why does it take so many years of heartache for addicts to realize drugs destroy!

Question:
Answers:
IT IS ACTUALLY A CSAE OF DENIAL.IN PSYCHOLOGY,DENIAL IS A DEFENSIVE MECHANISM PEOPLE USE TO SHIELD THEIR CONSCIOUSNESS FROM TRUTHS THAT THEY DO NOT WANT TO BE CONFRONTED WITH.PEOPLE IN DENIAL AS MOST ADDICTS ARE OFTEN COIN UP EXCUSES TO JUSTIFY WHAT THEY DO AND TO REFUTE THE TRUTH.THIS IN EFFECT GIVES THEM A FALSE SENSE OF CONFIDENCE AND JUSTIFICATION IN WHAT THEY DO AND AS THUS PUTS A VEIL UPON THEIR TRUE EMOTION WHICH IN THE CASE OF THE ADDICTS IS GUILT ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE DOING.IT IS THEREFORE NO WONDER THAT MOST ADDICTS PRACTICE SUCH HABITS IN SECRECY COZ THEY KNOW THAT WHEN OTHERS FIND OUT THEY WILL CONFRONT THEM WITH THE TRUTH THEY DEFINITELY DO NOT WANT TO HEAR.

Other Answers:
who says they all ever come to understand that the drugs destroy? Some of them never understand that and some of them really don't care if it does because the addiction itself is so overwhelming. Sounds like someone you care about is an addict. Don't give up hope but at the same time don't be an enabler when you try to help that person. I use to be a drug addict and now I don't even smoke cig.s but it took me over 20 years of abusing drugs before I actually quit. Good luck with the person you care about!
FIRST ITS PRIDE SAYING THAT oops sorry bout the caps saying tht i wont get hooked then its shame knowing that you are then its years of hiding it then years of denying it then when you hit bottom really hit bottom thats when the realization hits although known all along that it will kill you and everthing you touch .having been there and back i am an expert on the subject
