Should I get an IUD if I have had a bacterial infection?!

I've been doing alot of reading about IUD's. I have the copper one myself and just found out that I'm pregnant and have to get the IUD removed tomorrow. Everything I've read says that you should deffinately not get an IUD inserted if you already have an infection or have problems with uterine infections because you could get PID (pelvic inflamatory disease) which can be very dangerous. PID could possibly cause infertility if not caught and treated early. You should to do some research and address your concerns with an OB/GYN. Good Luck.

i have the mirena iud and i love it. my periods are so light and short. but you HAD a bacterial infection. so what does that have to do with it? what does your doctor say?
you should first think about getting a mate then perhaps birth control can be mutually discussed. if you have a bacterial infection, you should think about abstaining from bacterial producing activities. in the future, you might want to try sex instead of putting dirt where it doesn't belong.
