Sometimes there are no symptoms. That's why a medical examination is suggested if you are over 50 years old. The exam should include a PSA blood test. PSA stands for Prostate Specific Antigen. That equates to the test zeroing in on what is happening in the prostate. The PSA results should have anumber lower than 4.0 for a normal prostate. If it is higher the Dr should do an additional test; a biopsy to look at your prostate tissue under a microscope.
