I've been using Neutrogena Skin Smoothing Body Lotion for almost a month and it's helped me quite a bit. It has alpha hydroxy acid and is made specifically for KP. Check the website below for more info on KP.

The correct spelling is keratosis pilaris and it is a common mild condition in which the backs of the upper arms look rather like dried out, plucked chicken flesh. Keratosis pilaris is hereditary.
The treatments for it can be found on http://www.helpforkp.com/keratosis_pilaris_treatment_index.html

Suggestion for Treatment: This condition is similar to acne, in that the pores are blocked by cellular debris. The emphasis of treatment is to loosen and remove the cellular debris. The alpha and beta hydroxy acids greatly help in removing the horny plugs.

Hydroxy acid washes are used in the shower. Using a washcloth or loofa is helpful; however, you cannot scrub away the rash. The purpose of the hydroxy acid is to loosen the plugs and produce overall smoothness.

After showering, a hydroxy acid lotion or cream is applied to the involved area twice daily. Some studies have shown benefit with retinoic acid applied nightly as well. If the areas are red or itchy, a hydrocortisone cream or lotion can be added twice a day to this regimen.

Remember, this is a condition that usually improves with time. Treatments are designed to improve but not cure the problem.
My 3 year old son has this and we have tried many of the steroid creams and lotions. The only thing that has worked for him is wool wax creme. I couldn't begin to tell tou why, and I don't believe it's medicated in any way. He has had the rash on his upper thighs, the backs of his upper arms, his forearms and on his face since he was born. Now you can hardly even see it. I DO NOT recomend a loofah or rough scrubbing, as it only mad his more angry red and pronounced. At any rate, the drier the skin is, the worse the pelaris will be, so lubricate! Good LUCk!
