Is there a reason why my arm is sore after receiving a shot to draw blood?!

Question: I just got a shot. I think the woman missed a blood vessel or something. My arm has never been sore after a shot. It hurts to stretch my arm out. My arm is not turning color, just sore. Should I be concerned?
Answers:
Well, I would not say its normal, but the nurse obviously stuck you in a weird and awkward angle. It probably stinged and pinched when she stuck the needle in you, right? That's why I hate donating blood. Most of those nurses that stick you are what you call, "IN TRAINING". So they are notorious for experimenting on both your arms if they cant get one shot of your vein when they stick you. The same thing happened to me once when I gave blood, and that beehatch made both of my arms black and clue where she stuck me.

To this day, I don't give blood.
Its nothing to worry about, your soreness in your arm will heal in time. I would not try throwing a football or playing basketball when your that sore. Heck, even playing a fighting or sport basketball game on your computer might hurt your arm as well. Just let your arm rest a few days, and you will be back to normal. If not, you can sue the beehatch that did that to you!

nah, thats normal. i get shots all the time, it usually takes a day or so for the soreness to go away. call your doctor if it gets really bad or if it gets red and swollen. other wise you can just take tyelenol or motrin to lessen the soreness
I think a nerve might have been hit, if you can move your arm, I doubt there is nothing to worry about. If the pain worsens or is persistent for the next few days, call a doctor.
My arms usually get sore after a vaccination. I also believe that my left arm was sore after I donated blood, u know, after losing a pint why wouldn't it. If this is the first time you had blood drawn, i could understand it being sore.
It will get better. Sometimes when they take blood they can put the needle through the vein .. causing lots of bruising, swelling and pain. There is no real treatment other than an ice pack and time.
Nope that's normal for most people. Some shots hurt more than others, and some don't hurt at all. A tetnis shot hurts like hell! It'll pass after a day or so.
