Is it normal?!

Question: I have very sharp pains in my lower abdomen during intercourse. Is this normal?
Answers:
Normal is a silly word, but yes, it is common. Every exam I have ever had included the doctor asking me if I have any pains during intercourse.

Common, however, does not mean nothing to worry about. It could mean something as simple as a small vaginal cavity (most women are only 5-7 inches deep after all). It could also mean sexual penetration before you are fully ready. Unfortunately it could also mean an ovarian cyst or simlar growth. In short, see a doctor and get some peace of mind.

Other Answers:
see a doctor for sure
See a Doctor ASAP. NO its not normal
See your doctor. A friend of mine had pain during intercourse and her gynecologist was able to diagnose and treat her condition. Forget what it was.
no. not normal. See your doc.
I agree with the other answer of checking with a doctor, but here is something it could be. I've experienced sharp pains before and it is when he bumps my cervix during intercourse. Try switching positions and see if it still happens. If he is bumping your cervix, you'll have to experiment on positions so you can find one that is comfortable for you (usually one that doesn't allow him as much depth).

It would be best to see your doc and see if the underlying cause can be treated.
Painful intercourse is never normal. Possible reasons include:

penetration that is too forceful for you
psychological (past abuse, problems in current relationship)
vaginal dryness or chemical irritation from spermicides, etc
infection (urinary tract, sexually transmitted diseases)
endometriosis (abnormal growth of tissue outside the uterus)
uterine prolapse (fallen or tipped uterus)
other growths on the ovaries or tubes
scar tissue formation from prior childbirth or surgery
