Suffer from migraines.
depends on if you're taking meds and what kind. mine were getting to the point that OTC meds did nothing and it was normal for me to have a migraine for up to 12 days. i finally found a doctor that would listen and he gave me a scrip. now when i feel one coming on, i take the meds and it never hits. best thing i have ever done!
My husband's last until he takes an excedrin or until he vomits.
It seems like forever. I have had them last a few hours and then I had one for 2weeks before a doctor would give me something. If you have one try excedrin migraine that is the only over the counter med I have found that will work.
It can last for days!
could be a while, if you have a migraine, which is a specific kind of headache, take Excederin, drink water, sit in a dark or dimly lit quiet room.
Everyone is different, and for some people every migraine is different. Depends what meds you take, when you take them, what season it is.. If you are really concerned, then see your family doctor and get a reference to a migraine specialist. My husband suffers from migrains in the spring & fall (when the barometric pressure really changes), and now he takes meds everyday that don't totally take away a migraine, but they sure do lessen it.
It depends of what you are doing that caused you to get one to start with. Also if you have meds to take once you have one.
The best thing to do it HIDE! Get in a dark room, cover your eyes, make sure there is no sounds around you and you should be over it in about 2 to 3 hours.
Depends from person to person and the diff body ypes , consult a doc !
I've been off work for the past month and a half.
I've been having chronic migraines.
At least a bad headache migraine every 2 days. Sometimes once a day.
I always have light sensitivity 24 hours a day though, partial blindness and aura, comes through the day and comes and goes as it pleases. So does head pressure, left side numbness and sickness. I also have facial twitches and my eyes flash colours and neon lights sometimes for hours.Sometimes I just go blind and get dizzy.Sometimes It just feels like my head is caving in and like someone is stabbing my temples repeaditly with an icepick.

I'm on medication, and I have to get injections once a week in my head, neck and temples to make the nerves in my head stop hurting as much.

Everybody's different. When I was younger, my migraines only lasted about 3 or 4 hours. At the time I thought it was horrible, but I realise now that I was lucky.

I'm in a migraine now,Its been raining out, and I feel really sick.No aura, But I'm dizzy. I guess I shouldent be on the computer.
I've taken a bunch of medication. and am waiting for the pain to kick in. Once the pain kicks in for me, I can take another dose of some other kind of pain medication.

See your doctor, and if you can a specialist.I found it really helped.
Since I have had my child 10 years ago- I started having migrains. My migrains get to the point that usually I have to go to the emergency room to get relief because it can be a blinding effect to me.

My doctor had explained to me that depending on the source of the migraine depends on the length of it. Mine would last me usually a day or to the point I would have to go get a shot. I have known people to have what we call CLUSTER migraines that can last for days or even weeks even with medication.

My Physician and others that I know that have migraines.
My migraines were chemically induced. I am allergic to nitrates and sulphates. Hours after they enter my blood stream I get a migraine-like headache. Since I started avoiding them, fewer migraines.
Migraines vary. Mine go away anywhere from 2 to 5 hours.

There are effective natural treatments. You should always seek a Doctor's care for something as serious as migraines however. For some people magnesium supplements help.

Be sure that you are getting plenty of sleep. If I do not get a good nights sleep I will frequently get a migraine.

Also they can be triggered by food allergies and stress. One person I know suggested sniffing ammonia. It worked to get rid of it immediately for me but since I could not determine whether this was safe or not, I quit doing it.

The person who told me about this remedy said he had heard of it from a Doctor, so you might ask the Doctor about this.

Thank God I quit having them very often . Sometimes they get better wothout any treatment. I would be careful about taking some of the medications. I had one friend who went numb on one side of their body after taking medication for this condition.
I had one for four days once.
can last a few hours or even days, it depends on the severity and each person is different
It varies. Different migraine sufferers will give you different answers. No one size fits all. Generally speaking, roughly 3 hrs. to several days.
