What are some excercises that work on your thighs?!


Question: I've done alot of walking, so now I hace nice little calves, but now I have to work out my larger thigh muscles.
Answers:
Hindu Squats. Stand in place with a little space between your feet. Hold your arms out in front of you.

Pull your arms back as you squat down (feet still in place). Touch the floor when you're all the way down, then stand back up--pressing with your legs. As you come back up, reach your arms out in front of you.

Try to do fifty in a row. You won't feel anything during your first 10 or 15 squats. But you will definitely be crying for mercy by the time you get to 50. The swinging of the arms helps with breathing--trust me, you'll need that.

After a solid month of doing Hindu Squats everyday, your legs will be banging.

Lunges. Put your hands on your hips, take a step forward and put the knee opposite the one you took the step with on the floor. You should feel it in the thigh and buttocks. If you don't, take a longer step.

Squats work well, too.
you can use an exersice ball and put it behind your back when you stand against a wall, do squats rolling the ball up and down the wall, this will work your quads and glutes. Leg lifts lying on your side works your outer thighs and when you do a leg lift and lift the leg that is against the floor that works your inner thigh.

theres an exrecise that will get them in shape. i don't know what its called but you stand w/ your heels back to back with feet pointing out, and you squat. try to do 50 and work your way. they do this routine in ballet class.
Mat pilates thigh series really works to take inches off your thighs. Check out "The Pilates Body" by Brooke Siler. And of course the classic pilates abdominal series is simply awesome for the waistline.
