what effects does a historectomy have on female body?!

Question: Is intercourse the same for the woman and her male partner or does it feel differant? Does the stomach feel empty? how long does it take to heal afterwards?
Answers:
I had all my female organs removed includeing my cervix in 2000 at the age of 36. I am still on hormone replacement after 5 years to control the hot flashes. I am not cranky like the old wives tales say. Now this is just what I have been thru. Vaginal dryness..I am more sensitive to foods as in I get nausia several times a week that lasts for several hours at a time. I have had all the tests run possable to find out why this is happening and they find nothing. I get more headaches since the procedure. My skin is dryer and my hair is a little thiner. It sounds bad, but it's so much better than what I was going thru when I had my period.
Hope this helps you.

The wife had one, and she doesn't feel any emptyness, although she does have the perception that her waistline is a bit trimmer. Intercourse doesn't feel different, although some women have reported changes in their sex drive. Men don't notice any difference in sexual intercourse.

How long it takes to heal depends on the type of procedure you have. If you have the traditional abdominal incision then it is like any major surgery--a six week recovery time. If you have the laparoscopic or trans-vaginal surgery then you can be up and around in a couple of days and heal up quite nicely in a couple of weeks. Your doctor needs to fill you in on this.

No sex for two to six weeks, though!
