I am actually in remission from Hodgkins and have researched this cancer. I am not aware of a relationship between Hodgkins Lymphoma and kidney cystic or chemo treatments. Chemo treatments, however, are commonly used to treat Hodgkins.

Here is some of what I have learned:
Hodgkins Lymphoma (also called Hodgkins disease) is one of two major types of lymphoma. The other type is simply called Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Lymphoma is a cancer of lymphoid tissue. Tumors form in the lymph nodes, usually in the chest, neck, underarm and groin area. However, tumors can form elsewhere.
Hodgkins Lymphoma is rare, much more rare than Non-Hodgkins. There is only about 7500 new cases each year in the US. Hodgkins commonly effects young adults.
Nobody knows for sure what causes Hodgkins, but it is believed to be correlated with the Epstein-Barr (Mono) virus.
Compared to other cancers, Hodgkins is very curable. Most people who undergo treatment (chemo and/or radiation) experience remission.

As I said before, I have had Hodgkins. I actually finished treatments last summer. If you want to know anything else about this cancer, please email me. madenthe80s@hotmail.com I'd love to help.
