If it is a virus then 10 - 14 days is the normal. Drugs will not make this get better any faster. Though, you can take a decongestant (not an anti-histamine) to help clear out your head.
If it's a bacterial infection then you might need drugs. But, those don't usually happen unless your head cold is bad for long.
If it's not gone or leaving in 14 days go see a doctor.
