Bacterial Vaginosis-metronidazole did not clear it up, what should i request nex!

Question: Oh my im in trouble !

I have Bacterial Vaginosis as well as a yeast infection, according to my OBGYN. She gave me the seven day Metronidazole as well as the one day yeast infecton pill to take on the last day to wipe out the yeast infection.

I still have discharge that smells like BV. Should i panic? Is there such thing as "incurable" Bacterial Vaginosis or yeast infection? what should i ask for?

please help!

Thanks:)

Your doctor just might not have given you something strong enough to wipe it out.Just call the office and tell them what is going on.I had the same thing 6 years ago it went away just fine but I don't remember what the doctor gave me to take.

Report this to the same doctor that you seen prior. There could be other issues going on that he may need to treat differently.
It might not be the right antibiotic. Talk to your doctor and he or she will think of something else that may help.
Assuming you have completed your prescribed course of treatment your symptoms should be clearing up. If you are still symptomatic and have had no improvement, you may ask your doctor for a recheck. Sometimes they prescribe Cleocin (Clindamycin) in addition to Flagyl (Metronidazole). Generally, either one of these medications work great for BV. Your doctor should have obtained cultures to help determine the infection source.

Two different antibiotics are recommended as treatment for BV: metronidazole or clindamycin.

I'm so sorry you are having problems. I really don't have any advice, just a question. I'm taking metronidazole right now for the same thing. Is there anything you did to make the pill easier to take? I swear, that thing just dissolves on my tongue the second I take it and I threw up the first time, almost threw up on the second dose I just took.

I hope this clears my problem up. Thanks! =)
