Hello Suzanne, I am not female but I was in the medical field. That being said let me get the disclaimer out of the way.
You should always check with your Doctor. OK that's done.

You may not have any symptoms at all for menopause and that could be perfectly normal for you. Some ladies have it really tough with, Hot Flashes, Night sweats, serious Mood swings, cramping and more. Then there are some ladies that go through it like it was nothing.
You maybe one of those lucky women that have fewer symptoms. Congrats!

But still best to error on the safe side and spin by your OB-GYN and saddle up for a check out. An office visit is cheap compared to your peace of mind.

Take care Love
Jerry

PS I have a RATTIE named Truffle

You are probably going thru the beginning of menopause. I would check with your doctor and find out what is going on but i bet that is it.
Try not to worry too much about it as that may make it seems even worse, If it hasn't gone in a few days or there are any other symptoms, go and get your doctor to check it out.
not worry
consult with yr doctor
Well I would say at your age that you are starting to go through the change of life. You start and stop during your cycle miss periods all together, but you will feel much better if you see your doctor he can give you something to help with this.
You might be stressed about something..
Ive come on due to stress..lack of sleep.all sorts of stuff

and your cycle maybe changing too.especially if you have been coming on regular and predictably for a long time.

You know Mother Nature loves to throw us curve balls LOL

But still next check up bring it up to your Practioner
This happened to my mother and she is about the same age as you are. It scared her, too, so she went to see her doctor. He had her come back in for an ultrasound, and it turned out that she has a fibroid in her uterus. It's non cancerous but she may need to have it removed anyway. You should see a doctor about this. The bleeding could also be a symptom of uterine cancer. It's probably not that, but you should go get checked out to be sure. The sooner you do this, the better for your health. Don't be afraid. It's highly possible it's not life-threatening, whatever it is, but you really shouldn't take any chances. See you OB/GYN as soon as you can.
My aunt stopped at age 56. She was perfectly healthy. Dont worry. See your gp.
you must of got your period late in life i know a lady that is 58 and still gets it
Same happened to me at approx same age. I used to go to the doctors and was given a hormone check to see if pre-menopausal. Just a simple blood test. Got so fed up of it I went to see a consultant wand was given a hysterectomy. Best thing I ever did with quick recovery and no more hassle!
Well you age suggests pre menopausal. This could be the start of your symptoms. When was the last time that you had an exam done? It also could be polyps in your uterus or other things. If you are worried about it go see your GYN I am sure that you are fine though
