Do Secrotonin have something to do with your brain lacking it which cause depres!

Question:
Answers:
it is not a LACK of serotonin that is believed to predispose a person to these disorders, but the RELATIVE levels of serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine in several brain areas. increasing serotonin by itself has not shown to significantly relieve symptoms if norepinephrine and dopamine levels are not mediated as well. rarely is one neurotransmitter solely associated with clinical presentation.

Other Answers:
i believe the word is saratonin and it's about your brain not producing enough. i suffer from depression and that's what causes depression.
I've never heard of that, but I do know that a lack of seretonin can cause depression. Many anti-depressants boost your seretonin level.
serotonin. is a neurotransmitter produced in the brain to regulate mood. Increased levels create a good mood and decreased levels bad. It is the primary neurotransmitter linked to depression. Selective Seratonin Reuptake Inhibitors are a class of drugs designed to stop the reuptake (removal) of serotonin there by balancing the levels in the brain.

It's as little more complicated than that. Let me try to explain.

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter which regulates a lot of bodily functions. What neurotransmitters do is help carry a message from one brain cell to another. there's a space between the cells where the message gets carried from one to another. This is the synaptic cleft. In this space serotonin is released to help carry the message. Once the message is gone, a process called reuptake removes it from the synaptic cleft to be reused for another message. It is believed that the cause of depression is related to not enough receptors (places on the second cell that receive the serotonin). Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors help the body to create more serotonin receptors to help receive it better.

This gets WAY more complicated but that's the basics. Hope it helps!
