By having all these government programs, people become more
and more dependent on the government doing everything for them instead of being self-sufficient. You wouldn't have so
many people who abuse these programs which is costing all of us a great deal of money (thru taxes and medical costs).

Everything would be a lot cheaper. With Medicare and Medicaid you introduce more bureaucracy and more fingers in the pie. Remember when doctors made house calls? Do any do that anymore.
