I began using digestive enzymes 30 min's before a meal.(you can get these at a health food store). This should not be done as a continuing solution however. Your stomach needs to produce more acid actually. I take a tablespoon of vinegar in a half glass of water if I already have the heartburn and it stops very quickly because now your stomach will produce more acid to digest the food!

I have Gerd. I think each person is different. I was diagnosed several years ago. I took medicine at that time, but then quit taking it on my own. Now several years later, I am back on the medicine again due to severe heart- burn. You could watch what you eat ,like avoid juices with a lot of acid,, chocolate, caffeine, some greasy; spicy foods. ( these things aggravate it more) Do not just suffer through the pain though, if you have heart- burn. This can cause damage to your esophagus. Good luck!!!
