Anybody use Dialectic Behavioral Therapy to deal with their schozophrenia or Bor!

Question: DBT helped me install and apply skills that helped me avoid decompensation when I went cold turkey from Zyprexa and Resperidol.and has helped me immeasurably in mood regulation and in facing triggers that would normally push me over into psychosis.
How has DBT helped you?
Answers:
YES! YES! YES! I have BPD, major depression, and social anxiety. I had DBT last year and in 10 years of therapy, pills, and ECT's. it was the most effectful thing I've ever been through. I feel like I actually live in reality now. People used to call me a 'ditz' or 'stupid' but, I really just couldn't put 2 and 2 together. It wasn't my fault, I just had to work through some things successfully, DBT did that for me.

Other Answers:
I'm in DBT currently, it has it's ups and downs I suppose. I have learned a lot of skills, and am probably in a better place, but I still have A LOT of work to do. Some days I love it and see how my life is better than before. Most days I hate it and see only how things are the same or worse.
I'm a psychiatric social worker and I'm really glad to hear that DBT is helpful for you. I would be interested in hearing more about your experience, I think it could help lots of other people so I would encourage you to share the knowledge with other people who might benefit from your experience. Keep up the great work and stay healthy!
