I have a condition in my chest that sounds similiar to what you are feeling. The cartiledge between my first 4 ribs is enflammed and swollen. Every once in a while I get a little attack that feels like needles in my right breast. The pain goes away as fast as it comes. Is this close? If it is, I went to the doctor many times about it and she told me unfortunately it's a "grin-and-bear-it" kind of thing, there is no medication, only ibuprophen for the imflamation.
If this isn't close to what you are feeling, then I would also say it's most likely hormones or, depending on your age, growing pains?

i would definetly call my dr. right away, could be something more than just hormones. I, myself, would like to know for sure and quit guessing what it might be, and keep having them every month.
