I've heard that Lungs start to heal immediately when you stop smoking, so I would try to stop if I were you. Your not as bad as my grandmother who smokes 1 cigarrette every 10 minutes.
Quiting at any age is good no matter what your condision is. Even if you already have lung cancer you can at least slow it down.
Oh yes, of course there is.

My Mum did the same at around the same age, she found it easier to walk, excerise (can't get her off that bike) and generally felt a whole lot better.

Well done for stopping after so long - just think of the money you will save - save it and treat yourself to something good! :)
see your doctor for a complete check up and xrays , if you are in good health then quit, if there is the slightest blotch of cancer in your body then dont quit, sudden cease of smoking after this lengthy stretch can cause shock to that one cell of cancer and it will not know anything but to spread and enlarge itself.
There is definitely a benefit for you to stop now. While smoking a pack a day for 35 years has surely increased your chances of facing a variety of health problems, continuing to smoke a pack a day (particularly as you grow older) will drastically increase those chances.

If, on the other hand, you see no benefit in an increased expected lifespan, then there is no real benefit.
Yes. Even though you may still have health problems, by continuing to smoke you are only increasing the likelihood of a heartattack, stroke, lung cancer, and breathing problems.
Plus if you have children, they may not want their future children to be around smoke. If my father smoked I would not let him in the house around my baby.
Please quit, my grandfather died from smoking, and as strange as it sounds, I'd hate for anyone to die as painfully as he did.
Yes , Its estimated that every cigarette you smoke takes 11 seconds off your life, so every time you light up its 11 seconds less that you'll spend with your Family, Stop now and enjoy your Grand Children growing up.
you'll live longer.
