I can understand how that can happen. I guess you will need to eat less..no junk food. Get a hobby. Get plenty of sleep (you can't eat while you are sleeping, well actually you can but that is another can of worms)

go and like swim
ask your doctor about some sort of physical therapy.

* I know what you mean about weight gain, I take steroids for a chronic lung condition and boy have they made me gain weight.
I guess you are going to have to change your eating habits and monitor every calorie you consume since exercise isn't an option.Watch those empty calories in soda pop etc.
Do you like any of the instant breakfasts? That would give you vitamins and nutrients and satisfy hunger as well.
i am answering with a question what is your injury can you transfer to a stationary bike ? can you stand at a counter? do you have control of all you limbs? this is necessary to know what type of activities you might be able to do, to burn calories, such as leg lefts arm lefts etc
Consider getting Richard Simmons exerice tape for those in wheelchairs, I believe it is called Sit Tight.

If you contact me with your email address, I will gladly give you a diet based on Jenny Craig and Nutrisystem (unfortunately, youqa answers's email system doesn't have enough "characters" to allow me to send the diet through them). You can do it yourself at home. You won't need to measure anything or count calories. It is all already proportioned. It involves all food groups and is based on 1250 calories. Very healthy. I have shared it with many askers on youqa answers.
