I have hypothyroidism. However I do not experience the symptoms that you stated. I am currently on levothyroxin, and I feel 100% better. Before I was diagnosed with this disease. I was really very tired all of the time. In fact it was so debilitating. I would wake up in the morning, get dressed and I was ready to go back to bed. I felt like someone had wrung me out to dry..It was awful. However, finally I had a blood test that pointed to the problem, and I was put on synthroid.it worked miracles for me.
Hypothyroidism is hereditary. My mom has it, and her mom has it. So if you have daughters, save them the heartache and have them tested periodically.
Best of luck to you!

Numbness and tingling can be a symptom, but be sure to ask your doctor his opinion.he knows best. Are you on your new meds? You'll feel great once they take effect. You'll be amazed.
yes it is a normal symptom of hypothyroidism
your thyroid is not sending out enough of the thyroid hormone. You should be recieving a replacement such as synthroid
once your levels are back to normal the symtoms should subside

numbness is listed as a "later symptom' of hypothyroid

From my own experience with taking thyroid, changes are relatively slow, say at least a month or so, because fast changes mean you are probably taking too high a dosage.
Pay attention to these women who sound like they've been through this. Pay NO attention to Woman36 who sounds likes she's quoting a website but has no actual understanding of hypothyroidism and it's sequellae.
