how many times does our heart muscles contract a day?!

Question:
Answers:
The heart is the key organ in the circulatory system. As a hollow, muscular pump, its main function is to propel blood throughout the body. It usually beats from 60 to 100 times per minute, but can go much faster when it needs to. It beats about 100,000 times a day, more than 30 million times per year, and about 2.5 billion times in a 70-year lifetime.

Other Answers:
As many times as your heart beats in a day. You probably average 80 bpm, and there are HOW MANY MINUTES in a day? Multiply, and you have your answer.

I teach math.
average heart rate is 72 beats per minute times 60 minutes to an hour times 24 hours in a day = 103, 680 heart contractions in a day. Now this is only an average, some people will have a higher number and some a lower number.
that depends on how fast a persons heart beats and how many times per minute it beats. since one heart beat is defined as one contraction and one decontraction of the heart, if someones resting heart beat was 60 per min that would be 60 contractions of the heart muscle per min. then multiply the resting heart beat (in this case 60) by 1,440 since there are 1440 minutes in one day. this will give you the number of beats (or contractions) in one day. of course there is a slight margin of error due to the fluctuations in heart rate that is caused by stress, etc.
