Try using a Plocher scarf. They are really good. I got a sports injury - twisted knee - last year and used one to cure the problem. I was able to play again the following weekend.

They are only about forty dollars and last pretty much forever.

TRY A HEATING PAD AND SOME TYPE OF PAIN RELIEVER IF NO HEATING PAD SOAK A SMALL TOWEL IN WARM WATER RING IT OUT AND MICROWAVE IT FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES
Bio freeze it is so much better than Ben gay or a chiropractor.
Massage,dry heat,hot shower,more massage.If the pain persists,I would recommend a chiropractor.
The best way is to find a qualified chiropractor in your area. Some of the best chiropractors come from Palmer College of Chiropractic. They will do a consultation to see what's going on, an exam, and (if necessary) x-rays.

when you relax on the couch or easy chair, use one of those "squishy" pillows.
My mom is a massage therapist and whenever I have a stiff neck she has me put a heating pad on it for about 15 minutes, then tilt your head to the place where it hurts the most and relax it (usually by having someone else cradle your head in this position) Hold it there until the muscle starts to twinge then relax, massage it out until it starts to feel better and drink lots of water to get rid of any toxins in your system (which can cause sore muscles), this should help!
since most stiff necks are a temporary spasm of the muscles - usually caused from sleeping in an awkward position - the best treatment is gentle, slow stretching (don't roll your head, simply flex your neck to the right then left then back and forth and so on) combined with applying heat to the area.
You can take an advil for comfort and if it persists for more than a day or so or if you notice and changes in your body (numbness or weakess) go see a doctor.
