Old habits die hard. If during your student days you sleep little, then maybe your body requires little sleep now. You can get back to your "normal" sleeping hours slowly by de-stressing yourself.

Slow stretch exercises while lying down in bed may be good for you to fall asleep. I'm not talking about difficult yoga-type of stretch exercises - just stretching your arms over the head board slowly, then go through each part of your body from head to toe. Do small range stretching for each part. Then inhale and exhale. As you do this you will notice that you'll be yawning. Your muscles will relax part by part and that will get you ready to sleep. It's a trick my friend taught me. Sometimes it works. The only time it doesn't work for me is when I'm worried sick about something. Hope this helps. I know how terrible it is when I don't get enough sleep so I can imagine your situation.

Hi,

I guess it is stress of study and lack of exercise. Physical activity is a great stress buster.
When I am really stressed out but don't have time to exercise I try have a couple of mugs of hot lemon with lemon. This balances out the acidity that is lowered by stress and calms me down. Stretching helps. Also when I lie down and close my eyes I try and focus on this imaginary jewel that is turning inside my head - it is a form of meditation and with deep breathing and keeping my spine straight I am in a zone of comfort.
these days?

you mean during your lectures?
probably because of stress it affects every one just take a day or two to chill
Is there something in particular on your mind? I find that when im worried or anxious about something i have trouble sleeping. I would suggest maybe trying to work out whats bothering you before resorting to any meds to help you off to sleep. Other than that, i have tried herbal sleeping tablets and found they worked really well. But yeah, as i said, try to figure out the problem yourself before resorting to meds. Hope it works out for you! I know how much of a bummer it is when you dont get a good nights sleep!
the more you think about it the less likely you are to drift off into a natural sleep.. try not to watch tv in bed as your bed should be for sleeping only and if you stick to this as soon as you go to bed yopur mind will know to go to sleep.
i think because you are thinking to much
