Answers:
I quit after 30 years of smokng . 4 years ago last December 22 (but who's counting?). I used welbufrin and nicotine gum along with lots of help from people at work and home.
This was after many failed attempts over a 10 year period while trying: cold turkey, using the patch and even getting hypnotized. Utilmately I believe I got the right mindset when a close, ex-smoker, friend said to me that I had to think like the people in alcoholics anonomous and understand that I am a smoker for life, once adicted. You say to yourself that I've just chosen not to smoke any more even though I'll want to.
Don't know why it is, but that helped me.
By the way, after you've quit it gets easier over time. Try it and don't punish yourself if you don't make it right away.
