It's important that you see your regular doctor to find out why you have neck pain. Sometimes, an ex-ray or scan can determine what is causing the problem. I went to a doctor with neck pain and he told me it might be arthritis, but that he wouldn't know for sure unless he did an ex-ray or scan. The ex-ray showed that I have a bone disc disease. Several discs in my neck had deteriated. If it gets worse, my doctor said he would refer me to a neuro surgeon. The pain is managable now with pain pills, but I only take them when I have too. Go see your doctor and ask for ex-rays or scan to determine if you have a serious problem with your neck and/or back. P. S. At first I tried a chiropractor and each time he would adjust my neck it got worse. The chiropractor said that when you have adjustments you run the risk of a pinched nerve, which was what was happening to me. I was having numbness in my arm and hand. They are good for some people, however I won't ever go back to one. Good luck.
