How much physical exercise should you do after age 60?!

That depends on your condition. Check with your Dr. before doing any physical routine, but i think you actually need to be more active, it get's harder to keep the lbs down as we get older. 30-90 min per day 3 times a week depending on your current fitmess level, move up slowly as you can, and avoid injury at all costs!

I've seen people at 60 amd above walk 2 - 4 miles about 3 -5 days out of the week. You can tell it helps them.
You should definitely have a physical before you start. Let the Dr. know that you are planning on doing physical exercise. If you have not been doing exercise recently you should start off slow, and work yourself up.which is the way most people do it anyway..
As much as you heart can tolerate -the heart rate should rise to one and a half times approxmitely.
Easy old tiger.a nice mild walk around the block is good enough for starters.I do believe a little check up with the doc is your first step-just to see how physical your body will allow you to be.I don't recommend anything strenuous and/or upbeat until your check up(very important).60 yrs. young is fine,but go get that physical check up just to play it safe.

As much as you can, as regularly as you can! The more you stay active, the longer you will be mobile and flexible. Plus, there is recent evidence that physical exercise helps you keep strong mental capacity longer. I know many over-60 year olds who run in races, work out with weights, regularly go to yoga classes, walk daily, play tennis or golf. and even a few who still go surfing. So get out there and shake it up! ;-)
