Well, when I had trouble with mine the first thing that I noticed was that I had a sore throat. However I cannot say that my voice changed in anyway. If you feel up and down your neck in the area of soreness tilt your head from one side to the other . you will feel a little nodule on either or both sides of the neck this is probably a goiter. Which would indicate a thyroid condition.
