How can someone who gets an annual physical exams missed being diagnosed with ca!

Question: my husband has physical exams on September 2005 and diagnosed with cancer in December 2005
Answers:
Unfortunately, a rountine physical exam cannot look for all types of cancers. It is quite common for a diagnosis of cancer to be missed in the absence of symptoms.

I'm sorry about your husband, and I wish you both the best of luck!

it's very common.
Some forms of cancer grow very rapidly. Without knowing what kind of cancer and assuming that without symptoms, your husband's doctor was doing all the age-appropriate screening, I can only assume it's a form of cancer that when it awakens in the body - it grows rapidly.

I am so sorry that you are suffering, but I hope that the cancer was detected early and that treatment has been effective.

Cancer can be very difficult to detect. For some tests, a random piece of tissue or swab of cells is all that is used. It is quite likely that cancer could have been a mere few centimeters further in.

Cancer screening is still valuable though.
Many types of cancer cannot be detected in normal exams. I actually had cancer for a while before it was detected too, I just didn't have obvious symptoms. I hope the best for your husband. You can always email me, Madenthe80s@hotmail.com
