it depends on what kind of products you want to make, for the bath, you can use sea salt, and any scents that you like. dont use mayonase on your hair, that is asking for trouble, and if you dont get it all out it will smell really bad. avacodos, and oatmeal for your face. potatoes for your eyes, (they work better than cucumbers) white toothpast for blemishes. the list just goes on and on. but then again it depends on what kind of products you are wanting to make.
To make a wonderful salt scrub use kosher salt and olive oil. Mix equal parts of each.

To make a spicy scented sugar scrub mix 1 part granulated sugar to 1 part olive oil and add a tablespoon of cinnamon.

You can substitute almond oil for the olive oil in either recipe.

Baking soda makes a fabulous facial exfoliator.
Some ingredients include Salt, baking soda, Epsom salts, essential oils, milk, water, cucumber strawberries, oatmeal, almonds ,sour cream. the possibilities are almost endless it depends on what you want to make. You can get a non scented soap or lotion base or create everything from scratch.
One favorite soak is a combination of Epsom salts and or sea salt with baking soda with a essential oils scent chosen by purpose , lavender to relax, citrus and cedar for energy, sandalwood and Ylang Ylang for an intimate mood etc..
