i slammed my finger, how do i fix it?!

Question: Its very swollen and hard. The last joint is black and blue, and there is blackness under the fingernail as well. The middle joint is is red and hard and slightly swollen about halfway up it, but not black or blue. I can bend all my finger joints, though the top one is limited and hurts a little. It has gotten worse as the day progressed, in both coloration and flexibility, although i believe the hardness and swelling stayed the same. I'm currenty doing steel set for a store (setting up racks) and really dont have time to be working at 70% capacity. any suggestions?

go to the Doctor thats what they are paid for, i wouldnt ask anyone on here about medical problems! Not to be rude, but unless everyone on youqa answers has a medical degree then no one knows whats really wrong, so no one can really tell you how to fix it! what hand is it anyways.. bc u seem to be typing fine!

Other Answers:
ice and cold compresses, but you should probabyl see a doctor if it keeps getting worse
first of all i think u need to go to the doctor and put cold water
put a cold pack on it to reduce swelling. put it in a finger splint.
stick it in a bucket of cold ice water! then blow on it! just do anything you can to keep it cold!
It must not be hurting that bad for you to be on youqa answers. HAAA! Seriously, you need to go see a doctor. I'd rather get an x-ray to verify nothing's fractured/broken.
Take it to a doctor
if there is alot of swelling under your fingernail, you can relieve the pressure this way (seriously, i did it to a toenail that my son smashed) straighten out a paperclip and heat the end with a flame. use the hot paperclip to melt a little hole through the center of your fingernail. Once you get all the way through the nail, a little blood will spurt out. This will relieve the pressure and fluid that building up behind it. you can check WebMD if you don't believe me. That's where i got it from.
