Arthritis is inflammation of the joints especially the wrists and knees. Its a physiological process and not psychological.
You need pain medications like advil, or tylenol in the US. Other pain medications in other coutnries are also used for arthritis. (I dont know their names)

In regards to activity, moving the inflammed joint causes such pain and thus, no moving the joint would not cause pain. However, there might be very little pain at all times.

I dont think there is an activity that could help the pain.
My suggestion would be take a pain killer and do some moderate exercise.
The bone continously is reabsorbed and is reformed by stronger cells.
zun noon you are talking out your ***.but i agree with the others swiming is the best i have severe RA and it helps.
There are fun ways to stimulate endorphins--your body's natural cortizone.
