I find that decapitation is a sure fire way to get rid of dandruff. Okay, it is a bit drastic, but it really works.

Using certain shampoos that treat the underlying dermititis also can work very well.
Since dandruff is flaking of the scalp, I would suggest a shampoo with moisturizer or some other form of moisturizing your scalp daily. This will keep it from becoming dry and flaking off.
shave your head
dandruff is actually caused by a fungus, so mix 5 drops of tea tree oil into 1 litre of warm water and rinse your hair with this after you have washed and conditioned it, then you can rinse your hair with 1 cup of apple cider vinegar in a litr of water to relieve the dry itchy feeling. i find tho that head and shoulders hydrating care works the best and works after the forst wash its a greay shampoo
It depends on whether you have dandruff (which is caused by a fungal infection) or dry scalp. These two conditions have similar symptoms. A fungal infection can be treated with tea tree oil, I believe, although I don't know how effective it is in comparison to other antifungals. If you're daring you can use Gentian Violet, which is a preparation containing formaldehyde which was previously used for dying fabrics, I believe. Don't use Gentian unless you are sure you have a fungus, because it will stain your skin purple for a couple of weeks afterward.

If you have dry scalp, you might be able to fix it by switching to washing your hair every other day instead of every day.
