can cuttng carbohydrateto zero and taking in protein rduces weght?!

Question:
Answers:
It can but it's risky. First off you need some carbs for your body to function. During the induction period of Atkins he recommends 20 carbs a day for two weeks. From there you can slowly up that number.

My mother has been on the diet for a few years now. She is not that strict but she lost a ton of weight and has been able to maintain it. The only thing with this eating habit is to take your vitamins. The foods that you are avoiding have vital nutrients that you need to stay healthy. Find a vitamin that you can keep healthy.

Low-carbohydrate, diets eaten adlibitum, appear to be at least as effective as low-fat, energy-restricted diets in inducing weight loss for up to 1 year http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=Abstract&list_uids=16476868&query_hl=1&itool=pubmed_docsum

But to specifically answer your question about low carbohydrate and increased protein, it is difficult to sustain zero carbohydrate for any decent length of time, so not viable as a long term option, but....LOW carbs with high protein diets seem to facilitate weight loss ...see:
