There's no just "one answer".her depression can be coming from many things; as probably a therapist could get at..possibly it's things that are going on in her life, or it could be a chemical imbalance.
As for the lonliness, I'm sure that as her friend, you're trying to help her, and that is wonderful.I hope you can help.Keep trying, and maybe encourage her to see a specialist.
As a side note, you might want to help her by getting her to try taking Omega 3 capsules. They are very good for depression, and possibly the other side effects, like sadness and lonliness would fade away, when the depression subsides. You can do a search on Omega 3, and buy them in a Health Food store. I've read so much about these Omaga 3's, I take them myself, and the more I read about them, the more it points to the fact that our brains are missing this important nutrient, and we need to consume it to stay mentally balanced..
Not pushing the product.Just think it could help.I wish the best for her.

It could be the environment; the brain (lack of serotonin) or both.counceling and sometimes meds can help.
lack attention. too much failure..?
It could be genetic if depression runs in the family. Sometimes people get depressed for no reason at all or they get upset at things that most people would not get upset about. The best thing to do is talk to a doctor as soon as possible.
First, find out what happen to your friend that caused this problem as to his depression. Temperary is one thing, but long term (two weeks or more) is a serious matter for the professional's. Sometimes it's really not depression, but someone looking for attention or someone who is lonely. It's really not a good feeling, but if it's a serious enough type of depression, try to confront your friend and have that person talk it out, even get that person to cry it out, if possible. Beware that your friend does not make any serious attempts on his life. Dr Checko. (Nickname)
