Are salon sold products better for your hair( price wise and quality wise) than!

Question:
Answers:
Not necessarily. There are a lot of drugstore products that stand out and do a better job than salon products. You need to look at the ingredients and see whether the product contains good ingredients or not.

some stylist will say they do but in beauty school they told us its the same, but i don't believe it, i think salon products are better at conditioning and styling hair
company number 1 produces shampoo to sell to 'the masses'. being that i want to make as much money as possible i will add water and filler (wax typically) to my shampoo. that way the consumer has to use 3 times as much product (as company number2), but has purchased twice as many oz. (as company number 2).
do the math. company 1 has 24 oz. company 2 has 12 oz..
let's say you use 1 oz. of company 2 shampoo - you get 12 shampoos. to get the same cleanliness 3 oz. of company 1 shampoo must be used. that's only 8 shampoos.

it's all the water and fillers you are paying for.
with most professional products you can add 1/3 water and have it work just as well as full strength. try adding 1/3 water to cheap stuff and you get soapy WATER.

professional products also have chemists working with stylists to come up with SPECIFIC products for specific types of hair or specific hair problems. they are more closely regulated and cannot under any circumstances 'say' anything untruthful about their products unlike cheap brand names.

professionals have a reputation to uphold. we are held at higher standards. we have high expectations of ourselves.
Not at all. I have a book written by a beauty expert and she says one thing you could save money on is hair products because they are basically the same. Some more expensive brands may have more natural ingredients and may be interesting to try though, but I have and honestly, it was never worth the extra cost. I have tried a few salon brands and the stuff I get at Wal-Mart (Pantene and Dove) have worked just as good as the salon stuff I have tried (Matrix, biosilk and Nexxus).
price and quality.why?
well let's change the products a little.
you can purchase a pair of jeans at dollar general. as long as they cover your butt they do the job. don't fit that great because they were sewn factory style. they probably won't wash well because of the fabric. but they do the job.

or you could get a pair of jeans made to suit your personality, body type, etc. jeans that were hand made just for you. the fabric is breathable, stretches over your curves just so and you can wash them till the cows come home and the shape won't change.

which would you be more inclined to buy?
hair salon is for hair stuff. pharmacies are for drugs.
