It's not so bad but it really depends who you go to. Ask around find out who other people like, but make sure the place you go is really clean. I'd rather it hurt at a clean shop that have a painless peirce at a filthy place and get AIDS

Only for about 1 minute whilst it id being done. Then it feels a bit tender for about a week.
It is not as bad a childbirth.

I got lightheaded and passed out- so it wasn't painfull at all for me, my friend just had her's done (she's 17 and afraid of needles) and she said it felt like a little pinch. So I don't think it's going to be that bad for you, good luck!

Not really no, it's actually very bearable, and the piercing itself is super quick too, you won't even have time to suffer it's already finished.
You feel the piercing for the first few days, but as long as you keep cleaning it very well and make sure it doesn't get infected it doesn't hurt at all.

It's very breif, but a bit intense. Mine hurt badly but only because I had scar tissue there from a surgery where they went in for my appendix with a scope, you can't see the scar, but I evidently had a bunch of hard tissue there and it took him nearly a minute to ram the needle through. he made me set down so I wouldn't pass out from the pain.
They'll most likely do it with a banana needle, which is curved like, well, a banana. You may also hear it pop as it goes through the skin.
Depends on your level of pain tolerance. I have a high level of tolerance, so for me it did not hurt all that much. However my girlfriend is very sensative and she cried. She actually got infected..it was really bad. So if you are good with pain, then don't worry, just make sure you take care of it :P
It didn't hurt me. It was a really weird feeling, kind of like a pitch, but it doesn't really hurt. It's tender afterward, but as long as you take care of it, it stops hurting in a week or two. But, I handle pain ok. I got my tongue pierced too and that didn't hurt me either, that just felt weird. The most painful thing I've pierced was my cartilage. That made my eyes water. My tattoo artist said the most painful piercings are above the neck, but even if it does hurt, it only hurts for a second, then it is sore.
