Depression?!

Question: Sometimes I feel happy but I feel like sad and hopeless alot. I really don't think my family understands. Is this depression or is it nothing to worry about? What can I do to help me?
Answers:
It is normal to feel up and down. I would worry if you felt all of those emotions within like 2 hours or something. If you are really worried about it, there is a quiz you can take on line. (Do a search for depression quiz). It is free so don't take one you have to pay for. Then you and your family can decide if you need to see a counselor or not.

Do you exercise? Exercise helps SO MUCH if you are depressed. It raises the natural "happy drug" your body has to make things seem less hopeless.

I struggle with depression, and if I don't get at least some exercise I feel it start to creep in on me.

Hang in there!

Xanax- ok that's kinda vague. Try surrounding yourself with people places and things that make you feel good. Of course this cant be done all the time so find someone to gripe to. not who will SOLVE you problems. Just someone who will listen objectively and give you a hug or a smile when your done.
No matter how hard you try.suffering is a part of life. Take the good with the bad and DONT get all jacked up or depressed over the THINGS YOU CAN NOT CHANGE. .
If you are clinically depressed, you might have a chemical deficiency. See a doctor who can recommend a good Therapist. Seeing a shrink doesn't mean your crazy. Sometimes a shrink is the best person to unload on because they are paid to listen and give professional advise.
Don't be down. We all have our moments in the SUN as well as Some time in the rain. I like rain. It smells nice and makes the grass look greener and the flowers smell better.
Don't let depression get you down!
hello, everyone experiences depression many times in their lifetimes. nobody has to have a major depression problem to have bouts of depression..it is a normal way of life, some people get it more than others, but if it gets to be too much and it affects your way of daily life, then a good idea is to consult a good friend you can talk to or maybe a professional counselor. it is important not to get depression all the time cause the latest studies determine that it can cause harm to the heart and clog up arteries believe it or not, even in a healthy person. hopefully you are not feeling depression all the time and its just a once in a while thing..so don't worry about anything, try to relieve stress and take things one day at a time..i wish you all the best.. feel free to contact me anytime if you wanna ask me anything..i get depressed too..but it lasts maybe a few minutes at a time..
that can happen to anybody, it's depression, but every human being go through depression certain time but dont let it control you.
i use to be like that, and i thought i was depressed.
I think you should start listening to healing music: things like Ms. Morssette, Ms. Aguilara, and others who sing of overcoming struggle.
write stories and poety of how you feel, they dont have to rhyme, just spill out on paper.
and last but most important, make fun of your sadness
be sarcastic
be witty
cut your hair
give yourself a personal evolution party!

If you are really concerned with it, talk to someone you can trust. There are varying forms of depression.I am on anti-depressants and experienced very bad mood swings. One minute I was fine, happy.next I was full of panic or worry over nothing. This just could be a phase or it could actually be depression. The sooner you can see someone about it, the faster they can help you onto the road to recovery. Many people feel ashamed of having depression-please dont be. Just get yourself better, that's all that matters so you can lead a productive life. Don't hesitate to talk to someone because the simple blues can go extremely downhill quickly if there is a real problem here. Good luck with everything!
If you are in your teens this is not uncommon, however it could be potentially serious also. I'd suggest seeking professional help from a psychiatrist or your family doctor. They will be able to decide whether you're just indeed of some venting or could use some sort of anti-depressant medication to help you.
you need to go to a doc and let them tell you .. what kind of depression you have and treat you for it. they are several types of depression and different types of medication to treat it you do sound like you have mild to moderate depression..
If it concerns you enough to ask, it warrents investigation. Talk to your doctor or a psychiatrist. He can assess what, if any, type of depression you may have, and he'll know what's best. Alot of people have depression, and alot of people take medicine for it.
It may be depression. Depression is definitely something to look into! It not only is a Mental Health disorder but research shows it now is also effects you physical! I suggest you see your Family Doctor ASAP if symptoms persist. Talk to your family and tell them how you feel so depresses and maybe you could see a psychologist perhaps. They really can help! (But no matter what you do DO NOT see a Psychiatrist they will just drug you up and they cost BIG $$$$$$$!) A family Doctor probably knows more about depression and a Psychologist. A lot of people would probably agree with me. GOOD LUCK! Let God be with you!
