If they were in the hospital than they were in pain for some reason. When they die, they are not feeling anymore pain.
I've worked in a hospital for four years and am in the same situation. You never get used to it. You try to learn that death is indeed a part of life. If anything it's given me a sense of the importance of appreciating good health and enjoying life in the moment.
If this is wearing you to a frazzle emotionally and psychologically, you better consider a career change before it kills you, little by little.
I am troubled by this, too. The only positive way to react to this is to think that they would still die even if you weren't there. Your presence helps (directly or indirectly) some of these people and is therefore a good thing.

Nevertheless, I don't want to deal with sickness and death. And I became an MD. Go figure.
I don't know how you do it.i don't know if I have what it takes to do your job
I have worked ER for 18 years. I have seen more people die than I can count, but I have also been part of saving people that would have died without my help, and that is why I keep going back to work. Focus on the positive.

If you work there your gonna see it all the time. Don't let it get to you, and try to help as many people as possible.
People die. That's a fact in life.
it's tough ! As a rescue worker I sometimes have to see this too.You just need to focus on doing your best and know you did it !
Talking to others in your field of work helps. If it gets to the point where you can't function properly or is really bothering you I suggest looking for other less stressful employment.
Good Luck !
this is supposed to be in mental health but go see a pscyatrist.
Well one day you will die and you won't have to deal with it anymore.

Fellow hospital employee
First of all Congratulations for your job in hospital
and secondly all the best for your job.
The job of a doctor (or anybody working in hospital) involves the lives of people, thus, you have to be strong in the head to smell the hospital air.
The only way to get out of this, is quit the job (or change your field if you are a doctor)
OR
try to be as jolly as you can by listening to light music (buy a walkman and listen to music)
